Miriam Home, Licensed Psychotherapist
Welcome
I'm glad you're here.
The decision to begin therapy takes courage and intention. I am committed to creating a safe, comfortable environment for exploration, vulnerability, and new insights.

I'm an experienced, compassionate and licensed psychotherapist specializing in:
-
Coping with transitions of all kinds
-
Sandplay for safe, symbolic expression
-
Attachment therapy
-
Processing trauma
My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, and supportive, with good humor.
I love helping parents to learn more adaptive ways to relate to their children. With children I use a combination of play, sandplay, talk, and behavioral therapy.
With adults and couples, I consider personalities and strengths to guide you toward your goals.

I hope to hear from you and look forward to helping you take the next step.
I offer evidenced-based treatment for attachment disorders, depression, and anxiety disorders (including social anxiety, selective-mutism, OCD and others); Emotional dysregulation and/or chronic suicidal behavior; and Issues related to Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) and PTSD. I have extensive training in trauma work.
I enjoy helping families learn the skills of cooperation, compassion and understanding to help the family unit communicate and grow with each other. I also work with couples with varying dynamics that are in a relationship. We work on restoring open and honest communication, breaking destructive patterns, and manage the different phases of a relationship.
I believe we are all already wonderful and whole, and I can help you reconnect with your true self and improve your relationships. Together, we will quiet the negative thoughts and help find ways to naturally heal and grow. I tailor my approach to each person and use a variety of methods including mindfulness, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and attachment-based strategies.
